Outside of a dedicated single player campaign being left out, DICE has also recently confirmed that Battlefront won't feature a server browser and will instead utilize a skill-based matchmaking system.
Through this mode, players can earn credits for use in game, and by spending credits, players can unlock new things in the main game including weapons, gear, and items known as Star Cards.Įven though Star Wars Battlefront is a long running fan favorite franchise, DICE is making a few feature cuts which may disappoint longtime fans. In addition to displaying player stats, progression, and customization options, the app features a strategic card game known as Base Command. Hopefully as a Battlefront fan we will get that announcement soon.During the beta period, a browser based companion app for the game will also be available for players to test out. There have been some interesting tweets and posts from the cast of Battlefront 2 that make it seem they are working on a new project. Just imagine a new Battlefront game coming out every other year.

With the announcement that Lucasfilm Games will oversee all game projects and EA lost their exclusivity this will allow EA to focus on their best projects. The other EA game that has been successful for EA is the mobile game Galaxy of Heroes. Although there hasn’t been an official announcement yet we have heard that Jedi:Fallen Order 2 is already in development. Now EA can focus on the games that worked for them. Luckily, EA will continue to make Star Wars games while allowing other gaming companies to make games as well. When Lucasfilm Games made their triumphant return this week many fans wondered if this meant the end of EA making more Star Wars games.
That unfortunately did not happen and DICE producers told the fans that they were being assigned to work on other projects outside of Star Wars. When EA and DICE made the decision to shut down work on the current version fans were hopeful that soon we would be getting an announcement of a third installment of the Battlefront series. The love of Battlefront 2 has created multiple communities and social media outlets which has lasted over three years. It is so successful that even though updates on the games have ceased there are still new players joining the online platform of the game. But that all changed and it turned into one of the most successful Star Wars games ever. It’s no secret that Star Wars Battlefront 2 came with some controversy after it initial launch.
